Sparkle has a Christmas performance today, and neither Beloved or I can attend. His class is Christmas caroling in the lobby of an office building near their school. There are lots of parents who work in that building, and I'm sure the teachers chose it so that more parents would be able to watch. (Most of the kids at the school have two working-outside-the-home parents.) But it's at 10 AM on a Thursday! I'm disappointed that I can't be there, and even more disappointed that neither one of us will be there. There will be other kids who don't have a parent watching so Sparkle won't be the only one, but still.
He'll be a "Lord a'Leaping" apparently. He'll be wearing a Christmas hat. He'll be leaping at the appropriate point during every verse of the 12 Days of Christmas. It will be quite a sight to see, I'm sure.
Sorry that you have to miss. It will make you and Sparkle strong in the long run :). Can't wait to hear all about it via Sparkle's eyes.

Hugs...I know it's hard but in the long run it's not damaging...I missed quite a few of my daughter's activities because of work but made a big deal of the ones I could attend and those are the ones she remembers...maybe he can "recreate" the whole thing for you guys and it will give him a chance to explain what they did and play it out for you.
