Quick Questions
I've been recording Jon & Kate Plus 8 for about the last six weeks. Does anyone know, where the heck are those children's grandparents? I've never heard them mentioned. There has only been one couple (Jodi and ???) related to Kate on the show since I've been watching.
Are they totally estranged from their parents and families for some reason? Have they all passed away?
Also, and this is totally unrelated, there are two little girls in Sparkle's class named Michelle. And one named Micole (like Nicole with an M). I don't dislike the names, necessarily, but it surprises me to hear them on four and five year olds when they sound like 80s names to me.
Are 80s names back "in"?
I thought I had caught a comment in one of the episodes of J&K+8 that indicated that she is no longer close to her parents. I could be wrong on that, but I thought I had picked up on something to that extent. Not sure about his parents.
As for the 80's...apparently the 80's are the new "retro," and thus, everything 80's is back "in." At least, that's according to my cousin, a high-school teacher.

Me too...I thought I had heard her mention something about not being close to her parents (or was it mom?).
Nicole? Haven't heard that name used for a little one in a while. I don't mind the re-introduction of names as long as it doesn't come w/ leg-warmers and feathered hair!LOL I love 80s music though...'tis my music!LOL

Jon's dad is dead (he was a dentist). In the sextuplets birthday party episode, Jon's Korean grandmother was there. In that same episode, Kate mentioned that the kid's grandparents are not involved in their day to day lives.

Hmmmm- what does it mean if 8 grand/kids cannot breech any gap in communication?
Maybe we will find out in sweeps week. . .
While I understand they have a lot of kids the same age, my 6 kids, birthed one at a time, seem like angels compared some "only" children I know. . .at the very least "sharing" will be a way of life for them. . .:)

When they start naming their kids Ashley Lauren or Lauren Ashley, you KNOW were in the 80's. . .my oldest was born in 1986- he was one of 2 boys in the nursery- he is Zachariah, the other boy was Edmond Edwin ____ The THIRD (it stuck with me)
The remaining 8 babies were girls. . .7 of them were one of the 2 names above, after Young and the Restless women, I hear. True story, the other baby girl, named April May, I asked her mom where she got the name. . . she said I liked April, and she was born in May- April May.
Got it- true story

Don't watch the show, so I can't comment on that. But as for the 80's, if you remember my Valentine post, I made my girls some legwarmers so I know the styles are coming back in. :) But Micole? what an unusual name.

Micol without the final "e" is a Hebrew name - the female name for Michael.
Just my 2 cents.
